Other activities: Giving campus tours to prospective students and families. Serving as a Gryphon (RA) and planning fun resident events. Volunteering with LUEMS, our student EMS squad. Working as an undergraduate researcher in both the Babcock and Phage labs. Managing daily operations as an assistant lab manager in the HST building. Eckardt Scholar.
Bio: Hey everyone! I’m Tuana, and I am from South Jersey, and majoring in Neuroscience (on the pre-med track), and minoring in Chinese. Being a tour guide is easily one of my favorite roles on campus because I love connecting with prospective students and sharing what makes our community so special. Beyond tours, I serve as a Gryphon (RA), where I get to plan fun community events like our "Flower Fondue Fest" featuring chocolate, cheese, and pipe-cleaner flower crafting! I’m also a volunteer with LUEMS, our student run EMS squad.
Research is another core part of my college experience. As an undergraduate researcher, I work across two different labs: in the Babcock Lab, I study neurodegenerative diseases and dissect fruit fly brains under a microscope, while in the Phage Lab, I do bioinformatics and hands-on wet lab work. I’ve also served as an assistant lab manager in our HST building, and as an Eckardt Scholar, I’m planning to take my studies abroad!
When I’m not in class or the lab, I almost always have music playing since it’s my absolute favorite thing ever. You can also find me hiking the trail spots around the Lehigh Valley or taking trips into Philly. I’m a total foodie, so I love how diverse our local food scene is and am always on the hunt to try new spots!
